WEDNESDAY DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY

PRO PLAYER DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY is the ideal introduction for local grassroots players who have shown an aptitude for the game to access academy standard coaching in a professional environment.

These sessions are designed to be both enjoyable and challenging whilst teaching the players all of the ‘core skills’, which we define as first touch, running with the ball, 1v1 (attack and defence) and ball striking (passing/shooting).

These ‘core skills’ are developed through repetition and focused practice during the sessions and are further developed through the use of small sided games to maximise touches and encourage positive decision making. By being exposed to our bespoke coaching programme, players take part in high quality sessions focusing on the different components that contribute to building the complete player, ensuring that content is engaging and reflective of the challenges of the modern day game.

During the structured programme coaches are constantly looking to identify players who have progressed sufficiently to move into our ADVANCED Academy. This can be achieved by consistently performing well in the weekly training sessions or impressing during our in-house games and tournaments. These games will give the players an opportunity to transfer the technical skills they have acquired through our technical coaching programme into a game situation.
