David has been a professional footballer for 12 seasons and spent 9 of these at York City.

He signed professional forms at League 2 Darlington in 2002 and after numerous loan spells with The Minstermen he signed a permanent deal in 2005. With numerous personal awards and a promotion to League 2 David has set his sights on moving into the coaching side of the game.

 

He retired from professional football at the end of the 2013/14 season before signing for Harrogate Town on a part time basis. He is currently the Assistant Manager at Hyde United and made a big impression guiding Hyde to a promotion in the 2017-2018 season. They qualified for the 1st round of the FA Cup taking on MK Dons in the same campaign. David has his UEFA A licence, has completed his FA Youth Modules 1-3.

David has experience working with York City Academy as he coached and managed the U14 group and was Head of Football at Dearne Valley College.
